Iran Ready to Share Experiences on Hajj with Other Muslim Countries
Speaking in a meeting in Tehran with a delegation of Muslim scholars from Nepal, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdol Fattah Navab said Iran has previously presented its experiences on Hajj to a number of Muslim countries, which, thank God, had very good outcomes.
He also elaborated on the activities regarding Hajj and sending Iranian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, saying that three institutions are involved in the missions regarding Hajj.
The office of the Representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs runs the overall Hajj affairs and cultural programs, while the administrative plans and measures are carried out by the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, he noted.
There is also a medical delegation that provide medical and health services to the pilgrims in Mecca and Medina, the cleric added.
Hojat-ol-Islam Navab also noted that usually some 85,000 Iranians, including both Shia and Sunni Muslims, make the spiritual journey, all of whom receive the services provided by the three institutions.
Members of the Nepalese delegation also talked about Hajj pilgrimage for the country’s Muslims, saying that prior to the coronavirus pandemic, 2,500 Muslims from Nepal would go to Hajj, but the quota for Nepalese pilgrims this year is 550.
They also noted that the pilgrims take a course on the rituals of Hajj before embarking on the journey.
They further called for more interaction between Iranian and Nepalese pilgrims in Hajj and also asked for an Iranian Hajj expert to travel to Nepal for sharing of experiences.
